dA needs more collie love! border collies are awesome but rough collies are great too! Some of my favourite dogs ;;
Sorry for another dOG HEAD but I wanted to try some things and that's easiest to do when other aspects are within my comfort zone loool. I'm working on merging the european/grecoromanish style with that hatching thing I've been doing lately. I'd really appreciate feedback on how it's working and where it might be improved ;u; style-wise that is! anatomy wise I see the mistakes already! :< I only see them AFTER I've inked xD Sketch lines hypnotize me too much?
CROSS EYED AS HALE
and at that point I never change things because I usually have commissions pending ghgkdk
also wanted a dog with a tassel collar after seeing ~iKadbury's Sable!
Aw man. ;w; I have a three year old female rough collie, and I just can't get enough of this breed. Sable and white is one of my favourite colours, second only to sable merle.
It's also really frustrating that they're called 'collies'. Whenever I search for them, I get a boatload of border collies, bearded collies, and very few smooth and roughs.
The thatching works beautifully, although I might've waited for a different fur texture to practice it on... it suits a short, rough coat, the kind you'd find on terriers and wire-haired breeds. Collies have long, elegant hair, and the distracting texture really draws away from the intended 'flow' of the ruff. But in its own right, it's a really fascinating way to colour and detail portraits. I'd definitely like to see more of it in the future!
