sad because I was looking for you and everything >:|
or maybe i'm just tired idk what do you think sarabi
I do like how this turned out otherwise though, and it was a lot of fun to do. I think I like painting BGs almost more than painting the characters themselves... well, nature BGs at least. WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE TO LIVE SOMEWHERE LIKE THIS, luckyass wolves >:T why u leavin' for the ruins, idiots
I accidentally listened to this song about 40 times as I drew this, I love it and I can't see it not making whoever listens to it happy, even if you don't know a word of italian |D
I do believe this is the first picture I've done where I actually know the names of all the tree species depicted.
This is seriously a fabulous and insperational peice! The shading and the lighting is brilliant!
LineArt: Is really nice and neat. I like the way that when the LineArt travels onto an object that is the same colour as the LineArt. It's simple but still at the same time, is very affactive and beautiful.
Colour: Is amazing! The colours look really cartoon style but, at the same time has that lovely and realistic feel to it.
Expression: Is good and very haunting. The wolves look very troubled and at the same time look like they're looking forward toa journey they're about to take.
Background: Has a beautiful and fantastic feel to it. The watercolour effect is lovely
Overall, I would give this a 9 out of 10. The only thing that I find odd about this picture is that the background is WaterColour, but the wolves and the grass near to us is lineart and more cartoon like. Anyways, apart from that, well done and keep up the wonderful and inspiring work! You really are a true and talented artist!
I felt I needed to give this piece a review, because I enjoyed it so much; it stood out in my mind from when I looked at it before! I LOVED this fresh approach to a generally tired and overused subject animal.
First off, I gotta say that this is a gorgeous piece! The use of space and perspective is very effective, it feels like you're standing on the peak of some Mediterranean cliff, a fellow traveler to the two characters. The mood is uplifting, with the little dapples of sunlight and the warm color composition! Made me smile the first time I saw it!
Now on to the part that makes all artists wince a little: critique~
The one and /only/ problem I have with this image is the far off scenery. It seems you were going for an almost matte-painter effect, so that the water and far off mountains would blend and not be too obstructive to the eye; which is a good aim so that the eye isn't overwhelmed by both a strong foreground and a highly detail BG. However, the mountains look to me as if they're just a tad /too/ rough, like they're unfinished instead of just relaxed and dabbed-on like paint. I'd suggest working the middle ground into the far BG a little better, so that both work together seamlessly.
Other than that small issue, this is overall a very effective and beautiful image that lifts the viewers mood with its warm colors and happy subjects! Hope you enjoyed my critique and that it helps you in some small way as an artist~!
Your style is so unique!! I Love what you've done with the dark lineart in light places and light line art in dark places! For some reason this piece kind of reminds me of a stained glass window! But yes, very beautiful piece <3
